Protect CRA Investment in Low-Income Communities

Billions of dollars could be diverted by proposed changes to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). Under the guise of “modernizing” current laws, the Trump administration is seeking to weaken one of the few tools we have to fight unfair lending practices. CRA was passed in 1977 to address systemic redlining, discrimination, and disinvestment. It requires banks to lend and provide services equitably, and support community development in the places where they do business.
