NACEDA Summit 2020


Community development association professionals from across the country came together for this virtual event, exploring how low-wealth neighborhoods and communities of color can survive the pandemic and thrive. Equity, diversity, and inclusion were woven into sessions on eviction and foreclosure prevention, small business recovery, health sector partnerships, community engagement, and much more. The summit featured a keynote discussion with Ibram X. Kendi, #1 bestselling author of How To Be An Antiracist

Strengthening Resilient Communities | The National Forum


NACEDA was the lead partner in this collaborative online event, braiding together the NACEDA Summit and nine statewide community development conferences. The forum featured top national leaders in social justice, antiracism, and advocacy, including a keynote discussion with social justice architect Deanna Van Buren. Housing and community development leaders shared what’s working in their states and communities. 

The Welcome Video features representatives of the eleven community development association networks that collaborated on the Forum, reading a poem by Minneapolis-based artist Theo Langason.

 

NACEDA Summit 2018


NACEDA's 10th Anniversary Summit was a dynamic peer-learning event designed by and for community development association professionals. Speakers shared their success and challenges on advancing policy initiatives, partnering with health providers, using arts and culture to engage communities, developing effective networks, and much more. The summit featured a keynote discussion with Michael McAfee, President & CEO of PolicyLink. The Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations was our local cohost.

 NACEDA Summit 2016


The 2016 summit featured a special 1-Day Symposium: Community Development & the Social Determinants of Healthexploring how the community development and health fields can partner to improve health, increase prosperity and build better places. NACEDA partnered with the Ohio CDC Association to bring the summit to Cleveland, showcasing leading-edge initiatives that improve lives and build prosperity in low- and moderate-income communities.
