Federal Reserve Seeks Applicants for Community Advisory Board
The Federal Reserve Board is accepting applications from individuals who wish to be considered for the Community Advisory Council, which advises the Board on issues affecting consumers and communities. It is made up of a diverse group of experts and representatives of consumer and community development interests, including affordable housing, workforce development, small business, and asset and wealth building. Apply by June 10.

NACEDA News 
NACEDA Board Headed to El Paso for Retreat and Community Development Tour

NACEDA’s Board of Directors and staff participated in a retreat in El Paso, Texas to think ambitiously about the organization’s future through team-building activities and visioning exercises. We thank Boost Consulting for facilitating our retreat, the Texas Association of CDCs for acting as host, the City of El Paso’s Chief of Resilience for graciously welcoming us, and the community organizations that shared with us how they are increasing prosperity in El Paso’s communities. 
The local community development tour included a visit to the Blue Flame Building, a natural gas company building that was converted into 120 affordable apartments in addition to commercial and office space. We then met with the staff of La Mujer Obrera, which is dedicated to creating communities defined by women, organizing against injustice, and building alternative systems to uplift and nourish the community. At Cafe Mayapán, we enjoyed traditional Mexican food while learning how the restaurant serves as an employment training center. At Project Vida, we learned about programs and services determined by their Community Congresses such as health clinics, affordable apartments, afterschool programs, and Best Buy Teen Tech Center.
