NACEDA Fall Communications & Program Intern
National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations | Washington, DC

NACEDA represents state and regional associations for community development. We advocate for increased federal funding for community development activities, lift the voice of grassroots community development, and support our members’ state-based advocacy efforts. Through 40 state and regional associations in 25 states and the District of Columbia, our network reaches more than 4,000 community-based organizations.

NACEDA seeks an intern to:

  • Research grant opportunities, local solutions into health and creative placemaking;
  • Write for our monthly newsletter which focuses on the social determinants of health, using arts to revitalize communities, model community development initiatives, and training opportunities;
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase social media engagement;
  • Help curate and maintain the NACEDA website;
  • Write a blog that will be posted on the NACEDA website (optional);
  • Attend occasional meetings with national housing and community development advocates;
  • Administrative tasks including scheduling and taking notes during meetings and database maintenance.

NACEDA is a small organization with a strong network that links the local to the national. Interns work closely with the Executive Director, Communications Director, and Membership Director, and have the opportunity to attend high-level strategy meetings, and participate in major advocacy forums. 

Hours Per Week: 15-20

Vice President for Development and Communications

The Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development (CNHED) seeks an energetic, experienced professional to join our entrepreneurial team. The Vice-President for Development and Communications will work under the direction of the President & CEO to expand CNHED’s philanthropic and government funding sources and to devise its external and internal communications strategies. Initial screening for this position will begin on August 15, 2018.  The position will be open until filled. 

Senior Manager
The National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders | San Antonio, TX

Under general direction from the Director of Programs, this position is responsible for performing professional level work to manage urban and rural programs created to build assets in communities across the country, with a focus on programs that support equitable neighborhood development and small business development. The Senior Manager will also provide technical assistance to help build the capacity of local organizations engaged in providing services to predominantly Latino and Immigrant communities of color. In addition, you may exercise direct supervision over assigned staff.
